Who’s Running the Asylum?

When the senior adviser for anti-terrorism twists what he says to defend himself against what he actually says, evades a question pointing out the lack of coherence in his argument, and then storms out of the room rather than answering the question, you know the insane folks are running the asylum.

America Islamisizing

Click on the picture on the left to get a bigger version. It was taken at 292 Park Avenue, in New York City. This is during an annual “march” in NYC, in which streets are closed down on a Friday in order to for Muslims to pray in public. Now, a lot of people will say, “so what?” After all, they shut down streets for a Christmas parade, right? And they shut down the streets of New York City for movie filming from time to time, right? So what’s the big deal?

Now, let me turn this around. Suppose [...]

110 in 2010

The IDF Spokesperson’s office reports that approximately 110 rockets have been fired at Israel in 2010 (not including Monday morning’s rockets from Sinai). … We are now a little more than halfway through the year. What do you think the United States (to use one example) would do if 110 rockets had been fired at it from Mexico in the last half year? How many US citizens would have to be killed or wounded, or how many US buildings would have to be destroyed in Texas or Arizona before there was a response? What might that response be? [...]

Terrorism

It’s a remarkable fact that a nation founded, fought for, built by, and transformed through the extraordinary courage of figures such as George Washington, Susan B. Anthony and Martin Luther King Jr. now often seems reduced to a pitiful whimpering giant by a handful of mostly incompetent criminals, whose main weapons consist of scary-sounding Web sites and shoe- and underwear-concealed bombs that fail to detonate. -WSJ

I agree that this is remarkable, but the real question is: why? Could it be that we are in this state because we have become a nation of children, forever reliant on [...]

Our Reaction to Terrorism

From The August Forecast:

Janet Napolitano will visit Spain to “meet with her international counterparts to seek tougher international aviation security measures.“ Furthermore, she intends to deploy at least 300 make-your-body-naked image scanners at U.S. airports in 2010.

All of this is the knee-jerk from a single Nigerian underwear-bomber.

Consider the facts: This terrorist purchased a plane ticket with cash days before his flight (that’s a no-no). He boarded the plane without luggage (that’s also a no-no). He boarded the plane without a passport (that’s a really BIG no-no).

To any normal brain, this guy should never have been allowed [...]

The Reality of Terrorism

As the farcical and almost-tragic facts about the Nigerian-Muslim terror suspect play out, one thing has become crystal clear: Your government can’t protect you from a terrorist attack. Worse, when the next one hits – and only delusional elected officials would deny this certainty – you are on your own. -Townhall

This the truth. Either the American people start learning to take care of themselves, or terrorism will gain power over us, sending us into the dark night of a real “dark ages,” such as what reigns right now in many parts of the Middle East. We’ve tried, [...]

An Encounter with Terrorism

You needn’t watch this entire video to get the sense of it. Reading the comments posted to the video, things I can’t repeat here, is also quite instructive.

This has the same flavor as something I encountered in London just last week. While walking down a street there, we passed in front of a small group of people shouting the same things, over the ubiquitous bull horn. They were shouting “Free Palestine,” and “In-fa-ta-da! In-fa-ta-da!” Being my usual self, I walked right up and shouted back, “Long Live Israel.” To which one of the men came right up, [...]

On the Privacy Front

Tracking the world as our privacy slips into the past…

A lot of the problem with loss of privacy is people don’t understand the threat, or don’t take it seriously. Several studies on users of FaceBook have been done, showing how poorly people manage their settings on FaceBook.

One of the conclusions drawn by the two researchers is that Facebook offers relatively poor personal data protection ““ both via the service itself, its design, the level of competence of its users and their lack of awareness of self-protection measures.

“What information is put on the net is completely [...]
