Komen Bait and Switch

Look, the beauty of free speech is that, if you’re inclined to do so, you can write a check to PP in an act of solidarity, or write a check to Komen as an expression of moral approval. That’s all fine. But there’s something quite a bit different, something creepy and not a little despicable, about the Planned Parenthood set’s besmirching Komen’s good name across a thousand platforms for having the audacity to stop giving them free money. And I don’t care why that decision was made, frankly. If it was made because PP is controversial and under congressional “investigation,” that’s a perfectly valid reason for an organization to disentangle itself. If it was made because they judged that money would have a greater impact if directed toward the provision of actual mammograms and not just clinical screenings, that makes sense. And if the decision was made because a controlling faction at Komen feels a moral disgust toward the dismemberment of viable fetuses and would rather not subsidize an outfit that does that 300,000 times a year — well that’s fine, too. None of those rationales justifies the outrageous non-sequiturs about how Komen “hates poor women.” -National Review

I read, someplace (can’t find it now), that contributions to Komen doubled when they broke ranks with Planned Parenthood. Now that they’ve reversed course, you think they’re going to give any of that money back? You can bet they won’t.

This is called “bait and switch.” And it’s a typical pattern among those on the left.

Komen, for years, has given money to Planned Parenthood. Give money to support breast cancer research, support an abortionist. That abortion has been linked to breast cancer no-one seems to notice. When the reality came out, and Komen removed itself from the false flag operation, people gave money —because they care about breast cancer. But that money was still taken under a false flag. Those who gave money in order to support Komen’s decision to break with the leading abortion provider in the world have now had their funds donated to that very same abortion provider.

Again, though, this sort of behavior is common on the left. Giving money to Greenpeace is essentially giving money to “ecowarriors” who will use that same money to take your land. Giving to United Way is giving to that same abortion provider (and the Girl Scouts, hardly a organization that bolsters traditional values).

Liberals can’t raise money for their causes on what they really stand for, so they must hide behind “umbrella organizations,” and bait and switch tactics.

And did anyone see the liberal outcry when United Way stopped supporting the Boy Scouts? No, I didn’t think so. Why?

Because honor doesn’t matter to these people. Because truth doesn’t matter to these people (it’s been deconstructed). Because people don’t matter to these people.

What matters to these folks is two things: feeling good about themselves, and winning.
